Dr. Alisdair Smithies

An experienced technologist, educator and innovator in health professions education. Alongside operational management of technology teams at world-class medical schools, I have developed strategic international academic and commercial relationships to build and validate state-of-the-art technologies. My teams have pioneered the development of immersive clinical learning experiences in augmented and virtual reality, and spearheaded the use of AI in learner feedback service design. Key achievements include national awards for development of a dynamic data-driven approach for Team-Based Learning, in undergraduate medicine, and also for my research contribution to improve the training experience for junior doctors, working in the NHS.
